What we’re about

Books are useless if we don't put into action the lessons learned from them.

I can learn all of the best ways to form habits, how to negotiate, how to learn faster, etc.. but that means nothing if I don't use that information in real life. If I don't actively try to use anything from those books then I might as well not have wasted my time reading them.

In the words of Morpheus - "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path".

With this book club, the goal isn't necessarily to read the book, although that's recommended, the goal is to put into action the lessons from the book.

For every book we go over I'll bring in a subject matter expert to guide the

How the book club works:

• We have two meetings a month

• The first meeting of the month we introduce the book, have an exercise around the topic and then get a fun real-world exercise around the topic

• The second meeting of the month we share stories from our real-world exercise and go over lessons learned.

• For now, we'll be doing every meeting virtually

Breakdown of a typical meeting:

6:00 pm to 6:10 - introductions and hellos

6:10 to 6:30 - We break out into groups to either do an exercise or discuss lessons learned

6:30 to 6:40 - We come together to share lessons learned

6:40 to 6:50 - We decided what real-world exercises we want to do.

“Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation." - Nelson Mandella
