Do you have a website?
Can you write one from scratch?
Can you repeat it, or easily modify it anytime?
Why is it so difficult to own anything online?

Tim Berners-Lee complained in 1997 that Editors
for his World Wide Web weren't as convenient as Browsers,
and this situation hasn't changed since:

We complain about social media, attention economy,
cognitive offloading or digital sovereignty now,
but forget that we are here consuming an internet
that we were all actually supposed to produce...

Webrings are independent, decentralized networks
of personal/project websites that make the Web robust,
resilient and interesting, if only individuals take the initiative to organize!

Agenda:

We always begin with an initiation to our Git federation by reviewing collaboration practices from a personal repository, before we move on to a daily topic of interest:
annotation, layout, hydration, version control, persistence, routing
(HTML, CSS, JS, Git, SQL, HTTP), etc. - whichever our discussion
ends up focusing on that day.

There's plenty to discuss, but we don't move on until
everyone is caught up, whether beginner or expert,
by having documented their own solution
for the problem at hand in their repository.

This is a hands-on workshop, so bring a laptop
along with your hot takes and curiosity!
We'll bring ☕, 🫖 and 🍪s.
