May Book Club - Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby

Details
Hi everyone,
We're getting ahead by choosing the next book for May to help with library holds or to allow more time for reading. For May, we will be reading Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby. I listened to this book on audio a few years ago, and it was fantastic in that format. The event will be in person, but we’re still finalizing the location.
Here’s the description from Goodreads:
Goodreads Choice Award Nominee for Readers' Favorite Mystery & Thriller (2021)
A Black father. A white father. Two murdered sons. A quest for vengeance.
Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years, with not so much as a speeding ticket during that time. But as a Black man, he knows to be afraid when the cops show up at his door.
The last thing he expects to hear is that his son, Isiah, has been murdered—along with Isiah’s white husband, Derek. Ike had never fully accepted his son but is devastated by his loss.
Derek’s father, Buddy Lee, was almost as ashamed of Derek for being gay as Derek was ashamed of his father being a criminal. Despite their differences, Buddy Lee still has connections in the underworld and is determined to find out who killed his son.
Ike and Buddy Lee, two ex-cons with little in common other than their criminal pasts and love for their deceased sons, join forces in a desperate quest for revenge. Along the way, they confront their own prejudices about their sons and each other, delivering vengeance upon those responsible for their boys' deaths. Together, they strive to do better for their sons in death than they ever did in life.
