Let's Get Out and WALK!!!

If you like batteries (the military kind, not the AAA kind), you'll enjoy this walk! Jaw-dropping views and visits to FOUR different batteries. At about 2.5 miles the walk is short on distance but long on diversity with tons of photo ops along the way. And the terrain is diverse enough to ensure a good workout!

We'll start in the Battery Alexander parking lot off Field Road, which sits high above the southern end of Rodeo Beach in Sausalito. From there we'll circle around batteries Alexander, Smith-Guthrie and O'Rorke and then hit the spur trail to the appealingly creepy Battery Wallace and the Bird Island lookout. Then we'll take the paved path toward Point Bonita (alas, the lighthouse will be closed), where we'll be treated to full-on views of the GGB and San Francisco before retracing out steps back to the parking lot. LEVEL: Easy (Note: 2 sets of stairs and one steep-ish paved hill); EXPOSURE: Full Sun
