Dungeons and Dragons in Plymouth

Details
Ever want to try Dungeons & Dragons? Or maybe you played in the past and want to pick it back up?
I’m a first time DM starting a new group near Plymouth, open to both new and experienced players.
We'll be running D&D 5th edition (2024 rules) starting with a few low-commitment one-shot adventures and hopefully transition into a longer campaign down the line. I'd also love to play some other game systems in the future, as well as give different people opportunities to take a turn at DMing.
We’ll be holding 1 or 2 sessions a month. The focus is on working together and telling interesting stories, more than power gaming or rule mastery.
Please bring gaming dice and a pencil and some paper or notebook if you can!
JUNE 14th DETAILS
- We will be running a single, self contained adventure for level 1 characters.
- Event will take place at the Plymouth District Library in the Friends Room. Enter up the stairs from the parking lot and turn immediately to your right before the front desk.
- I'll be reaching out to attendees in advance to confirm attendance and coordinate details.
- Feel free to make a character in advance (either on paper or in D&D Beyond).
FIRST TIME PLAYERS
If it's your very first time playing, I will have pre-generated characters available (you can also feel free to make your own). I do ask that you familiarize yourself with the rules and how the game works (but no need to be an expert). There's a ton of resources out there, but I recommend at least taking a look at the D&D Basic Rules which will cover everything you need to know.
I'VE PLAYED 5TH EDITION BUT I DON'T KNOW THE NEW 2024 RULES
Don't worry, you'll be fine! The updated rules are very similar and largely compatible with the original 5th edition rules. Here's an article with some description of changes.
