The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Detroit's Belle Isle is the oldest continuously operating conservatory in the U.S., featuring five distinct plant houses (Palm, Tropical, Cactus, Fernery, Show House) with exotic and rare plants, plus formal gardens and a lily pond. Designed by Albert Kahn, it opened in 1904 and is named for Anna Scripps Whitcomb, who donated her orchid collection.

To be mindful of other people’s allergies, please do not bring pets on this.

Admission is free and if people are in the mood afterwards we could go on a walk seeing more of Belle Isle including aquarium or nature center.
