Feed Elk, Bison, Deer & More at Marty's Place
Details
We're visiting Marty's Place, a nonprofit animal sanctuary in Bruce Township, for a hands-on tour where we'll feed and interact with rescued animals. Get up close with Joey the bison, Rey the deer, Ernie the donkey, Richard the elk, plus goats, rabbits, and more friendly residents who are always ready for snacks.
This is a real working farm and sanctuary - you'll be walking around feeding animals directly, so the more treats you bring, the more interaction you'll have. There's no such thing as too much food here.
When: Tour starts on Saturday, June 6th, at 11:15 AM. Please arrive a few minutes early.
Where: 79223 Brown Rd, Bruce Township, MI 48065
Cost: $9 per person (pay on arrival) with cash, credit, debit, or Venmo
What to bring:
- Animal crackers
- Whole/cut fruit (apples, pears, grapes, berries, bananas)
- Whole/cut veggies (lettuce, celery, carrots - larger animals prefer whole/uncut)
Do NOT bring: Bread, meat, cheese, anything with pits (including avocado), rhubarb
What to wear: Boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty - this is a farm with lots of friendly animals eager to say hello.
If plans change, please cancel with 24 hours' notice. This event is cross-posted with the 30s and 40s meetup group.
