Course in Miracles Study Group | Chapter 16, Sections 1-4
Details
We follow an 18-month reading plan, progressing through A Course in Miracles in small, manageable sections. Each session includes a blend of teaching, group reflection, and practical experiences designed to help embed the learning in a meaningful and embodied way. The teaching offers context and clarity on the week’s reading, drawing out key themes and insights. Group reflection invites participants to share their responses, questions, and resonances, creating a space of mutual discovery and deepened understanding. Practical exercises—including short contemplative practices, journaling prompts, or guided applications—support the integration of the material into daily life, ensuring the Course remains not just intellectually engaging but experientially grounded.
Pay What You Can
This study group runs on a Pay What You Can model. There is no fixed fee to attend, and all are welcome to join whether or not you are in a position to contribute financially. You can find more details here.
Contributions—at any level—help to support the time, care, and structure that make the space possible, and allow it to continue in a steady and sustainable way.
If you attend regularly and are able to contribute, you are encouraged to do so in a way that feels honest and manageable for you.
There are a range of suggested monthly tiers, including:
- a Supported level (£8/month) for those contributing within limited means
- a Sustaining level (£20/month) which covers the core costs of running the group
- higher tiers for those who wish to support others to attend or help the group grow
All tiers offer the same access to the Study Group; the difference is simply how you choose to support the space.
If you’re not able to contribute right now, you are still very welcome to attend. The model is such that those who can give more help to support those who can give less, and the group remains open because of that shared willingness.
Participants are encouraged to read the assigned portion in advance of each meeting so that we can dedicate our time together to discussion, shared insights, and personal reflections. This approach allows us to deepen our understanding of the material in community, moving at a steady, contemplative pace.
We use the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE)—available in print or as a free app—which is ideally suited for an intensive study of the Course. This edition includes expansions, additional essays, and extensive footnotes that enrich the text’s meaning and help to explain the more challenging aspects.
About Your Facilitator
I facilitate this group as a dedicated student of the Course, bringing both my experience with the Text and my background in contemplative practices to help guide discussion. Since 2016, I have been a committed student of the Course, weaving its spiritual wisdom with my work as an English literature professor, psychosynthesis coach, and meditation teacher. My academic grounding cultivates a curious and deeply engaged approach, while my meditation teaching and personal practice nurture an ever-deepening inner stillness. I aim to guide others with compassionate insight, fostering spaces where transformation and awakening can unfold. For me, the Course is both a profound teaching and a lived reality, calling us past separation and toward the embodiment of love.
I am a meditation teacher, coach, and academic who helps creatives and changemakers uncover greater purpose and clarity. I’m originally from the US, but I’ve called the UK home for nearly 20 years. Before settling in the UK permanently, I spent three years living and working in Asia, where I had the chance to travel, explore, and immerse myself in different cultures. I hold a PhD from the University of Leeds and have received additional training at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, the University of Middlesex, the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation, and the Sadhana Yoga School (RYT-200).
