Image & Self - how do settings change us?

Who are we, and how much of that depends on where we are? We sometimes think of ourselves as having a fixed identity, yet our surroundings can subtly shape how we feel, behave, and see ourselves. A familiar room, a busy city street, a place of worship, a workplace, or a natural landscape can each bring out different aspects. The people around us and the expectations of a particular setting can influence the image we project—and the one we hold of ourselves.
Join us for an open and thoughtful discussion as we explore questions such as:
- What role do memory, culture, and community play in shaping our identity?
- Are there places where we feel most authentically ourselves?
No specialist knowledge is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to listen and share. Whether you enjoy philosophy, psychology, art, personal reflection, or simply good conversation, you are very welcome.
