What we’re about

Calling All Members of the African Diaspora in the DMV!
Do you identify as African American, Afro-Caribbean, African, Black Latinx, or a blend of them all? Have you ever felt the disconnect—or the potential for deeper connection—between our diverse communities?

Welcome to Bridge Culture Talks—a space where stories, struggles, and strengths from across the African diaspora meet.

I'm Alethea, a self-described Bridge—born in England to Caribbean parents, raised in the U.S., and shaped by life in Europe. My journey through identity, culture, and community taught me that while our histories are different, our humanity is shared.

Too often, our communities exist side-by-side without truly engaging. But what if we gathered—not to debate—but to listen, share, and grow together?

Through curated roundtable conversations, storytelling, and culture-based dialogues, we’ll explore:

What unites and what divides us

How our histories have shaped our worldviews

The everyday experiences of being Black—at work, in school, in America and beyond

And most importantly: how we can foster empathy, curiosity, and connection

Inspired by powerful conversations and social experiments that revealed both tensions and hope, I’m building a space for honest talk—not just about race, but about identity, belonging, and legacy.

✨ If you’ve ever felt like you’re in between identities…
✨ If you want to better understand your fellow members of the diaspora…
✨ If you're tired of division and ready for connection...

Then this space is for you. Join us. Let’s build bridges, not walls.

📍First roundtable coming soon in the DC/Maryland area.
