Writing Home (online)
Details
What does ‘home’ mean to you? Have you migrated – by choice or otherwise – and what does it mean to live away from where you grew up? Have you felt the pull of adventure and opportunity to put down new roots; have you felt the need to grab your things and leave a place? Are you familiar with dislocation, isolation, and the shock of the new? Have you navigated a newfound Otherness, or have you been Othered in new ways?
Join this workshop delivered by Todd Barrowclough, a Berlin-based Sāmoan writer and immigrant from Aotearoa New Zealand. He will walk you through ways to think, read, and write about home – whatever this idea means to you.
Drawing inspiration from writers and thinkers who have come before us, he will lead discussions about place, transit, and belonging.
Todd will set easy-to-follow exercises and will facilitate discussion.
Have something to write with and write on.
This workshop will be delivered in English but you can write in whatever language you feel comfortable expressing yourself in.
Todd will contact you with more information a few days before the workshop.
