On this Online live 5-week workshop you will learn about the craft of dramatic writing, how to write for TV, and how to market your work.
Whether you seek to write comedy, drama, or something in between, we’ll show you how to write TV episodes that might, someday, get you good ratings.

Session 1

• Storytelling fundamentals: Theme, tone, genre
• Differences between writing for films and writing for tv
• Plotting Tools
• Log line. Story line. Tag Line.
• Tv Outlines: Episode and Season
• The tv Treatment

Session 2

• Structures: Linear and non linear
• The 5 Acts structure
• Teaser. Inciding incident. Plot points and climax
• The season structure
• The tv pilot format

Session 3

• Scene design
• Scene goal and objectives
• Scene structure: Beginings and endings. The Turning point.
• Writing with beats
• Script format tools
• Techniques: Enter late, get out earlier, Set up and Pay off
• Cuts and transitions

Session 4
Characters

• The character core: Motivation. Goals. The character spine
• The protagonist. • The antagonist.
• Secondary characters design
• Creating the Character back story
• The character biography

Session 5

• Dialogue
• Dialogue Fundamentals and functions
• Dialogue Techniques: Set up and pay off, trigger,repetition,
• unexpected response, delayed response.
• Subtext techniques
• Pitching
• Pitching keys
• Pitching techniques: How to sell your tv serie to the industry
• The elevator pitch design

Course details:
August 12th- September 9th
Saturdays, 10am to 12pm. UK time
5 sessions of 2 hours each.
Total: 10 hours.
The workshop will be held live in a virtual classroom in Zoom
All sessions will be recorded for registered participants
Meeting details are provided once the booking is completed

Instructor:
Ezequiel Rubin.
Born in Argentina, 1977. He works as Script consultant/Scriptwriting and Directing Teacher. He has collaborated for several projects from Spain, Argentina Italy and Canada, working for companies such as Tve, Factotum, Rai Cinema, Tv3, Met Films and MediaPro.Founder of Cinelab, film school based in Barcelona, provides Screenwriting, Filmmaking courses and coaching for Writers, Actors and Directors.
He is actually working as Script consultant/Script doctor for several projects from USA and Europe.
