  • Route 81 Cycle Ride (Elan Valley)

    LD6 5EU

Cycling in the Elan Valley. Meet just outside Rhayader (car park at LD6 5EU) to use Cycle Track 81 (mostly tarmac, some gravel) to the Visitors Centre. Those after a shorter ride and / or cycle hire can meet us here at 11:10 am (LD6 5HP - when arriving don't turn left over the bridge - go straight on to the 2nd car park near the centre). We then cycle around the lake to Craig Goch. The full route is about 30Km (18 miles) and should take about 3 hours at a leisurely pace - this is route mostly flat. The shorter route (from the Centre) is 20 Km (12 miles). My plan is to stop at the Visitors Centre on the way back for a late lunch. Please let me know your planned start point. Bring a bike (any old mtb will work), some water and a smile.
