What we’re about

At Pondering Robert we know London can feel like an isolating city so we want to create and host fun, inclusive events and activities that you might not necessarily otherwise do. You’ll meet chilled-out, likeminded people and even make potential life-long friends.

The serious bit… None of us should have to experience the events with any drama, prejudice or abuse of any kind, therefore, if you join, we expect you to follow Wheaton’s Law, which is: Don’t be a dick!

It’s incredibly easy to not be a dick. In fact, it takes way more effort to be a dick than to be a decent human being to your fellow humans.

Examples of dickery are (but not limited to):

  • Hate or prejudice against anyone of any kind, be it their:
    • Race
    • Nationality
    • Religion
    • Sexuality
    • Gender (inc. transphobia)
    • Age
    • Disability
    • Background
  • Sexism & misogyny
  • Harassment & predatory behaviour
  • Bullying
  • Unwanted physical contact
  • Using and/or selling banned drugs or substances while at events.

The rules are there for members’ safety and protection and we stand by them steadfastly. We will investigate ALL reports of dickery towards other members and eject perpetrators from the group, as well as report incidents to MeetUp and even the police.

Some may call it ‘woke’, but we call it ‘common decency’ and even ‘UK law’. We therefore reserve the right to eject anyone we feel is contributing disharmony to the group or breaking the law.
