Kotlin can improve your Java backend

Details
Hi all!
We would like to invite you to our next Java Meetup.
We are happy that Marián Varga accepted our invitation. You may remember Marián from our previous meetup where he talked about New Features in Java 21. This time he´d like to tell you more about why he thinks every Java developer should have a look at Kotlin.
What to expect:
Many people view Kotlin primarily as a language for Android development. However, Marián had the opportunity to use Kotlin on a few backend projects and after many years of strictly focusing on programming in Java, he discovered Kotlin´s potential. Therefore, in this talk, he´d like to highlight the benefits Kotlin can bring to your project and team.
Together, we will have a closer look at several examples and show you the possibilities of increasing code quality and overall development efficiency.
Using Kotlin does not mean throwing Java away. There are several ways to connect the two technologies. You´ll see that Kotlin allows you to look at Java from a different perspective, realize what improves code quality regardless of the specific language, and last but not least you´ll understand the motivation behind the improvements in latest versions of Java.
Agenda:
18:00 - 19:00: Kotlin can improve your Java backend, Presentation
19:00 - 19:15: Q&A
19:15 - 20:00: Free discussion over pizza & beer
Is this event for you?
All Java fanatics and/or Kotlin skeptics at any level are welcome.
How to attend:
If you´d like to come, we encourage you to join our event here on meetup. The number of attendees is limited (35 people), so in case you won´t be able to attend, please, change your status so another person can join, or let me know in a message.
The event is free, on-site and the presentation will be in English language.
We will meet in Nivy Tower on 5th June at 18:00. Please, make sure to come at least 5 minutes before the event so we can start on time. We will be waiting for you at the reception of Nivy Tower from 17:45 (make sure to enter the business building and not the shopping mall).
If you don´t know how to find us or have any other questions, contact me on Meetup or at [simona.kovacova@sonalake.com](http://mailto:simona.kovacova@sonalake.com/).
See you in June :)
