This walk was originally meant to end at Hampton Court. After prewalking it at the weekend, I have changed the destination to Kingston and shortened the walk by a mile. We should have time to enjoy a cuppa in All Saints Church café in Kingston. Café closes at 4pm.

Walk description: Beautiful 9.5 mile walk along the Thames, passing by Richmond, Ham, Teddington and Kingston (plenty of drop out stops along the way). Wide range of picnic spots, once we leave the crowds in Richmond. There may be little clouds of insects in parts but they didn't bite (they're just annoying) - it all depends on the humidity levels. They don't spoil the loveliness of the walk. I would suggest that proper hiking shoes/boots are worn - some muddy patches due to excessive rainfall.

Toilet stops: the only public toilet I found along the way was between Richmond and Petersham Meadows.

Dogs are welcome. I encountered a lot of dogs and would suggest that dogs are kept on a lead at all times.

Travel Details: Train from Waterloo at 9.52; from Clapham Junction at 10.02; arrive at Kew Bridge Station 10.20. Meet you at station entrance. Walk commences at 10.30am.
