What we’re about
Hello all!
My name is Jon and I am an experienced and trained hiking leader, nature and wildlife lover who knows more about birds than about himself.
I have recently decided to stretch my wings and to create this group to meet others who are as passionate as I am about the wildlife or would like to learn about it and what a country we live in!
With the world's largest Grey seals colonies, to gannets, puffins and even a walrus and an albatross on the coast to red and black grouses, owls of all sorts , eagles and millions of migrating and wintering birds who travel to and through our island every year, we will have a lot of animals to find and snap.
My trips are open to everyone, from wildlife fanatics to people who would like to discover a bit more about our beloved prettier neighbours.
I will not rush you, we are there to enjoy every minute and even if some trips can be more strenuous than others, we will take the time that you need, you will be able to take photos and videos or just have a breath of fresh air.
I promise laughter, smiles, food orgies and some drinks for those who like a glass of wine or fruit juice alike.
If you want to connect with wonderful people and spend days and weekend trips walking in a nature reserve with other birders or joining a last minute trip to try and find one of the rarities who visit those lands join me on my trails.
There is a lot to see and do and you will have a wonderful time and will fill your head with souvenirs of our giggles and journeys.
See you soon!
Jon

The Saxon way part1: Faversham, the Swale and Oare Marshes nature reserve
Victoria Station, Victoria Station, Victoria, London SW1E 5ND, UK · London, al, London, GBIt is Sunday and it is autumn so what do we do on such a day? We go hiking and birding in a beautiful part of the world with the most amazing people called Jonions!
Let's take a walk along the Swale in one of those beautiful coastal towns where the river end its course into the sea, the colourful Faversham!
Faversham is a beautiful little town in the Eastern part of England
We will walk through the cobalt streets and make our way to Oare Marshes, a beautiful area and important nature reserve where swamps, rivers and ponds attract a multitude of migrating birds and will walk along the Swale and the sea until we get tired, the views are absolutely gorgeous and out of a painting.
There will be a few birds involved so take binoculars and camera if you fancy as this will be a hiking and birding trip like I often organise. The hike isn't long and is pretty easy.
Of course we will end this trip with food or drinks at one of the many restaurants in Faversham, unless you prefer to get back on the train directly. We are there to have a good time and enjoy nature and architecture.DISTANCE:
