Want to do something different in a magical place and discover the wildlife that surround us? This trip is made for you. Whether you would like an initiation to bird watching, are a twitcher, a wildlife photographer or just want a day out and a new experience, join me on one of my favourite nature reserves.
Some call me eagle eyes Jon as I am used to spotting birds that many have difficulties to locate and know the reserve and its treasures well as I visit a few times per month.

BIRDS HIGHLIGHTS:
Currently, it is the best season to spot birds that would normally be difficult to spot; Here are some of the highlights that I normally see.
Bearded reedlings
Marsh Harriers
Peregrine falcons
Short eared owls
Common and Jack snipes
curlews
various egrets and herons
warblers
all sorts of migrating and local waders

Rainham marshes is located just on the outskirts of London, along the river Thames and close to the sea and not only Rainham is a haven for birds such as bearded reedlings, short eared and barn owls and all of the waders, ducks and harriers you can dream of, it has wildlife such as otters or lizards but the nearby river Thames is home to a large colony of seals that can usually be seen on the sandbanks as well as various dolphins species who hunt daily in its waters.
Who knows what surprises will delight us these days and the massive autumnal migrations have finally started and from one day to the other, any marvellous bird could stop on its migration route to delight us.
