Let's take a walk along the Swale in one of those beautiful coastal towns where the river end its course into the sea, the colourful Faversham!
Faversham is a beautiful little town in the Eastern part of England. There has been a settlement at Faversham since pre-Roman times, next to the ancient sea port on Faversham Creek. It was inhabited by the Saxons and mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Favreshant.

We will walk through the cobalt streets and make our way to Oare Marshes, a beautiful area where swamps, rivers and ponds attract a multitude of migrating and over wintering birds and will walk along the Swale and the sea until we get tired.
Waders and rare birds of all kind from greenshanks, little ringed plovers or short eared owls or hen harriers spend the winter in this marvel of nature as this is a major migrating route, bearded tits, long eared owls or barn owls live there during the whole year as well as spoinbills or avocettes.
We will stop whenever we find birds and observe and photograph them when we can.
Of course we will end this trip with food or drinks at one of the many restaurants in Faversham, unless you prefer to get back on the train directly. We are there to have a good time and enjoy nature and architecture.
