Newton Heath Towpath Taskforce

Join us for our towpath taskforce on the second Thursday of each month in Newton Heath. It’s a great opportunity to try low-commitment volunteering with the Trust. Typically we plant hedgerows, tackle problem plants, paint locks and mend towpaths. All tools and equipment provided, refreshments provided and no experience necessary. We meet at 10am at Lock 69 on the Rochdale Canal in Newton Heath.

The Newton Heath Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet like-minded people from the local community and our Manchester volunteering team. You can help make a difference in maintaining and enhancing the Rochdale Canal in Newton Heath as well as benefiting your own physical and mental wellbeing. You can learn new skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours enjoying the great outdoors.

No experience is required, just bring yourself and a positive attitude. Please dress for the weather and bring sturdy footwear.
