Birding at the top of Sabino Canyon Tram Road

Details
There is a wide variety of birds at the upper elevations of the Santa Catalina Mountains and we are going to take the all electric tram up to the top to start our day. Once we get off at the final stop we'll do some birding at the tram stop once it departs. We'll have 2 choices to either go down a small trail to the wash of maybe go up the trail a short distance to a long level part of the trail. Being at the higher elevations makes for a little cooler environment.
The first tram leaves at 9:00 am and there is a $15 ticket fee. There's a tram that leaves every 30 minutes.

I would highly suggest that you purchase your ticket through there website to reserve a seat and guarantee a spot at 9:00 am.
This time of year we have to go to places that are not going to be so hot and that means we climb in elevation from the Tucson valley floor. There is a 3500' change in elevation from the visitor center. There are 9 different stops when you travel up the tram road and we'll get off at Tram Stop #9. You can choose to walk back down the mountain or catch a ride down to the parking area. The ticket cost includes a round trip!
