A Home for Life's Wanderers After Divorce
So… divorce. Not exactly what you put on your vision board, right? Whether it was a sudden detour or a long time coming, finding yourself on the other side of "happily ever after" can feel a bit like wandering into uncharted territory — suddenly face-to-face with questions we never planned to ask.
Divorcee Café is here for that part of the journey. We’re a welcoming, inclusive community for anyone navigating the strange and tender terrain after a relationship ends. Whether you’re craving friendship, healing, perspective, or just a reason to put on real pants and leave the house — we’ve got a spot for you. All genders, orientations, and backgrounds are welcome. Our events range from cozy conversations to playful gatherings—designed to remind you that you're not the only one figuring things out. You’re not too late. You’re not too much. And you’re definitely not alone.
We believe life after divorce isn’t the end of your story—it’s just a new chapter. One where you get to rediscover who you are, what you want, and how to enjoy your own company again (yes, even on a Sunday night with nothing but a blanket and leftovers). Through connection, conversation, and shared experiences, we help each other figure out what comes next—with a little humor, a lot of empathy, and maybe some strong coffee.
And if you’ve got a creative itch—maybe you’re curious about learning guitar, writing that story you've been sitting on, or just want a community of fellow artistic weirdos—check out our sister group, Wandering Bards. It’s a cozy corner of the world for people who want to write, play music, make art, or simply express themselves after a big life change. Because sometimes the best way to heal is to create something new.
This path may be unfamiliar, but you don’t have to walk it alone. Grab your metaphorical walking stick and let’s wander together.
Let’s shake off the stress, grab a mic (or a drink), and have an unforgettable night of karaoke at Highlander! Whether you’re here to belt out a power ballad, scream some rock anthems, or just cheer on new friends, this night is all about fun, laughter, and letting go.

Whether you're newly divorced or looking to make new friends post-separation, this event is perfect for socializing and making connections with others who understand and support you on your journey.
This is a peer-led group, not a therapy or coaching group. It’s not a place for professional mental health support, but it is a space to feel seen and supported by others walking a similar path.

- Find Your Rhythm: Group Guitar NightKahve Cafe, Salt Lake City , UT
📍 Kahve Cafe - The Wise Dragonfly
57 S 600 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84102A beginner-friendly class to learn your first song, meet great people, and light a creative fire for new beginnings.
If you’ve been feeling the pull to reconnect with yourself or just want to try something different, this could be the spark you're looking for. I’ll be leading the class myself. I’ve been teaching guitar for years and love helping people discover joy through music, especially those picking it up for the first time. This group is all about learning at your own pace, with zero pressure and plenty of encouragement.
This month, we’ll be learning “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World. It uses simple chords, has heartfelt lyrics, and captures the feeling of finding your footing when things don’t go as planned. Each session builds a little more skill, but more importantly, it builds connection. You’ll leave not just playing your first full song, but also with a few laughs, and maybe even a few new friends to share the journey with.
This event is co-hosted by the Wandering Bards Meetup and is part of our new "Find Your Rhythm" (FYR) series. FYR is all about exploring new interests, building confidence, and reigniting your creative spark. It's less about fixing yourself and more about reconnecting with who you are becoming.
Bring your acoustic guitar (or an electric with a small amp) and an open mind. We’ll end with a casual jam session.
Upcoming Songs – Our Journey So Far
Every month, we learn a new song together—each one chosen to be beginner-friendly and meaningful. Here’s what’s coming up:- May – “Last Kiss” by Pearl Jam
- June – “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World
- July – “Needs” by Collective Soul
- August – “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day
- September – “Take It Easy” by The Eagles
We’ll cycle back to the beginning in October for anyone just joining the adventure.
- Creative GroundsKahve Cafe, Salt Lake City , UT
📍 Kahve Café – 9:00 AM, every Thursday (3rd Floor)
Start your Thursday with something soft and soul-filling. Creative Grounds is a relaxed weekly space for folks who are navigating life after divorce and want to reconnect with their creative side—whether that’s journaling, sketching, songwriting, or planning your next big idea.
We meet upstairs at Kahve Café at 9 AM. Feel free to come a little early to grab a coffee or treat and settle in.
This isn’t a workshop or a class—just a lightly structured creative hour with community. Some people write, some doodle, some chat. You’re welcome to bring your own project, start something new, or just come with a notebook and see what flows. Conversation is welcome and encouraged, especially the kind that helps us feel a little more seen and less alone.
You don’t need to be “an artist” to show up. You just need to be someone who wants to make space for inspiration, expression, and gentle connection with others who get it.
