Patrick is a Linux enthusiast with a passion for CloudNative Technologies. In his day job, he uses this power to help build a Kubernetes Security product at Cast.AI

Join Patrick on a journey from a random idea of using eBPF to monitor for malicious file accesses in Kubernetes Pods, to a PoC level project called Beesting. The talk will leave you with a better understanding of different low level components that run on a Kubernetes node. You will also learn about the various options I considered, as well as the trade-offs I had to take. On top of that, you get a front-row seat for seeing the power of eBPF in action.

IaC and GitOps are no doubt the methodologies to run infra management and configuration. But on its own they don't make platform engineering a walk in the park. Innocent decisions can have a significant impact once applied on a large scale. This talk will share a few observations and lessons learned, so that you learn from someone else's mistakes.
