**Thomas -** Co-founder Principal Engineer at Localstack

Thomas is a systems engineer, technical leader, and co-founder at LocalStack, where he builds tools to make cloud infrastructure more testable, observable, and developer-friendly. He's led engineering teams from startup to scale-up, written core systems across the stack, and holds a PhD in computer science. His work spans distributed systems, open source, and creating processes that help teams ship with excellence and intention.

In this talk, we'll explore how to build a safe, fast, local-first workflow for testing Infrastructure as Code before it ever hits the cloud. Using LocalStack, we'll show how to emulate full cloud environments, troubleshoot and iterate on your IaC, perform IAM security testing, and even emulate CI/CD pipelines with the latest LocalStack release, all on your laptop. Whether you're hand-coding Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, or letting your AI agent do the heavy lifting, you'll learn how to validate, iterate, and deploy with real confidence.

This session introduces Overmind, a tool that prevents these disasters. By automatically mapping your infrastructure's complex dependencies, Overmind uses LLMs to translate the potential impact of any code change into a plain-English risk analysis, delivered directly in your pull request. Learn how this new approach can prevent your next outage.
