Winter car camping and snowshoeing

Silent Lake Provincial Park

I booked 2 car campsites side by side in order to accommodate 6 tents. (Maximum 3 tents per site). Turns out I was mistaken about the reservations and needed to book now to ensure we get campsites. I’ve paid $260 and we can sort it out later. The warming station is open and includes showers and running water but the outdoor taps will not be open. This provides a few luxuries that we will not normally get in backcountry winter camping 😀Full winter backcountry gear required including snowshoes and crampons. More details to follow. You must have all your own equipment and be experienced in backcountry hiking and camping. Hike pace about 4-5 km per hour. Experienced backcountry campers only please. If you bring a guest you must share a tent and split the load unless we have room for another tent (maximum of 6 tents) The consensus is to set up camp and do day hikes rather than break camp each day.
