Ho, Ho -

For the last 8 years, we have had a Christmas morning Yum Cha. It has become a tradition in our group that we all relish. The holidays, especially Christmas, is for many a tough emotional time, especially if you have no family in Wellington. This is even more so since the entire town, even McDonalds, is closed, except for Chinese restaurants. This year, we will be celebrating Christmas morning at the Grand Century Chinese Restaurant on Tory Street across from Havey Norman.

If you are unfamiliar with a Yum Cha, it is a Chinese tradition where family and friends gather around a round table to have a leisurely brunch. Servers continuously bring small plates of delicacies to the table, and when ordered, put them on a lazy Susan in the middle of the table to be shared.

You may order off the menu if you choose not to share your food and pay for it separately. If you elect to participate in the Yum Cha though, the cost will be divided equally, and you will pay your share at the end. It should run between $20 and $30.

Early RSVP's appreciated to allow me to book the tables.

Merry Christmas - Michael
