About us
Come Alone is a Toronto social community built around one simple idea: you shouldn’t need to already have someone to go with in order to go out and do something interesting.
We host casual, in-person events where coming by yourself is completely normal. Events will have some structure or activity so people aren’t simply dropped into a room and expected to figure out how to meet each other.
Events may include discussion and debate nights, games, creative activities, interactive social events, and other formats designed to help people talk, participate, and meet new people naturally.
Who should join?
Come Alone is for adults 18+ in Toronto who want to get out more, meet interesting people, try different activities, and have better in-person social experiences. You can join whether you’re new to the city, trying to expand your social circle, or simply interested in attending something when none of your friends are available.
You do not need to be especially outgoing, and you do not need to bring anyone with you. Coming alone is encouraged.
What can you expect?
Events will usually be hosted at public venues around Toronto. A host will be present to welcome attendees, explain the event, introduce people when helpful, and provide enough structure that people who arrive alone can easily participate.
Some events may have their own rules or format depending on the activity. We expect members to treat each other respectfully, even when an event involves disagreement or debate.
There are currently no membership dues and the group is not affiliated with a business or outside organization. Individual events will clearly state beforehand if attendees are responsible for purchasing their own food, drinks, admission, or materials.
The goal is simple: interesting things to do, interesting people to meet, and no need to wait until someone else wants to come with you.
Come alone. Most people will.
