Healing through Writing

Join our Healing through Writing meetup where we focus on exploring personal stories and emotions through writing. We’ll be running writing exercises to stretch your imagination and help you on your healing journey. If you want to have fun and heal through creativity and self-reflection, this group is a place to express yourself.
Please keep a book/journal and a pen ready. We will start with a minute introduction about ourselves followed by 3 exercises. You will have the option to share your writing at the end of each exercise.
Exercise 1 (5 minutes):
You will be given a word and will have 5 minutes to write a story/poem/thoughts/reflections using this word. You will be surprised to see what surfaces here...
Exercise 2 (5 minutes):
You will be provided with the ending of a story. You will have 5 minutes to write the story backwards. Wrack your grey cells!
Exercise 3 (5 minutes):
You will be given an adjective and your task will be to write a letter to yourself describing how you are that adjective. This is where the healing happens when you recognise your own self-worth and start to acknowledge your qualities.
