Welcome to the Santa Cruz Burpee Club!

Over the years I’ve explored lots of different ways to get and stay in shape. I’ve tried weight lifting, running, walking, swimming, all with varying degrees of success!

However, a unique shift occurred when I began focusing solely on burpee training. I began to see results in my physique that I hadn’t seen prior. I noticed a shift in my mentality with new layers of grit, strength and mental clarity emerging. And most importantly, I felt like I was participating in a form of exercise that I could turn into a long term practice, which is why I now view myself as a Burpee Practioner

As a Burpee Practioner, I hold myself accountable to 80 minutes of training per week, no more, no less. I break this down into 4 20 minute sets per week.

There are two types of burpees I practice:

  1. The 6 count burpee (which focuses on cardio)
  2. The Navy Seal Burpee (which focuses on upper body)

I complete 2 20 minute sets of each type of burpee each week.

If you attend this meetup, you can expect the following structure:

5 minutes of intros and hellos
10 minute warm up set and stretching
20 minute group workout tailored to the level of the group
10 minute cool down
5 minute discussion about the goals for the rest of the week

If you are brand new to burpees then I’ll be happy to teach you proper form and help you with your initial set.

Meetups will be on Mondays, unless stated otherwise.
