Introducing Pulumi IDP

For the May L.A. DevOps Meetup Gavin Johnson from Pulumi will be discussing Pulumi IDP. After a brief introduction to the core Pulumi product Gavin will discuss Pulumi IDP a bottom-up framework that integrates with the entire Pulumi product suite, enabling platform teams to build and manage self-service workflows based on codified golden paths.

An introduction to and walkthrough of Pulumi IDP, an internal developer platform built on Pulumi’s flagship infrastructure as code technology. We’ll cover:

• Pulumi IaC: A brief overview of Pulumi’s core infrastructure as code capabilities
• Pulumi IDP: An overview of defining infrastructure as modular components, the supported developer interfaces (e.g., code, YAML, GUI, REST API), and how Pulumi Cloud supports self-service workflows with built-in guardrails. **
• Walkthrough of Pulumi IDP: A walkthrough in Pulumi Cloud showcasing how you define, deploy, and manage infrastructure with Pulumi IDP.

About Gavin:
Gavin Johnson is a programmer-turned-product marketer with a background in IT, consulting, and product marketing. He currently leads the product marketing team at Pulumi, driving strategy across messaging, launches, and content. Gavin earned a bachelor’s in Computer Science from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of Southern California. His past roles span Deloitte Digital (Senior Consultant and Manager), AT&T (Lead Product Marketing Manager for DIRECTV), New Relic (Principal PMM), RudderStack (Product Marketing Lead), Yugabyte (Senior PMM), Twilio Segment (Senior PMM), and Earthly (Director of Product & Marketing). An Oregon native now based in Los Angeles, Gavin has two huskies, is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and is a former marathoner.
