Title: Limits and Leverage of AI in Test Data
Presented by: Bastian Baudisch
Description:
Artificial Intelligence continues to transform testing landscapes, often promising to drastically reduce complexity and make automation a breeze. Yet, when it comes to reliable test data, AI alone cannot replace the nuanced reality of production data - especially for reproducing elusive errors and rare event constellations. Plus, the organizational challenge of different data consumers (developers, testers, automation engineers, ML engineers) wanting different things is often overlooked. In this context expert knowledge and field experience are key - both on the operator as well as the consumer side. AI and automation will certainly lighten the load, but they must be applied wisely within a holistic framework.
In this insightful presentation, Bastian Baudisch from UBS Hainer will examine the complexities of supplying test data across diverse environments, tailored to the individual consumers’ needs. He will share how to separate technical from organizational complexity and how artificial intelligence CAN help when employed in the right context.
About Bastian:
Bastian is a data management and process automation specialist with a multifaceted background in technical pre-sales and consulting in finance, insurance, retail and pharma. In his current role as Lead Sales Engineer US at UBS Hainer, he drives the adoption of the XDM Data Orchestration Platform — enabling enterprise software engineers, testers, and machine learning teams to access production-grade, real-world data on demand. With previous leadership roles in data science and software QA, Bastian has honed a pragmatic, holistic approach to solving complex data challenges. Bastian’s passion lies in bridging technological innovation with practical, user-centric solutions, ensuring that test environments are as robust and agile as the challenges they face.
Title: MVP Demo of the Neuro-Symbolic AI Code Genertation Tool Medusa AI
Presented by: Ian Crueldad
Description:
Ian introduced the topic of neuro-symbolic AI at his December 2024 LA DevOps presentaion and is now about to allow access to the MVP of his neuro-symbolic AI code generation tool Medusa AI. There will be brief intro to neuro-symbolic AI leading into the demo and I assume some interesting discussion about the technology and the product so far.
About Ian:
Ian’s unwavering dedication to innovation and artificial intelligence is
evident through his extensive experience in the field of data science. Before creating the customized logic algorithm for Medusa AI, he held diverse roles, including being a data scientist, data engineer, and a data analyst. Ian’s educational background is rooted in a Master’s degree in Information System with a specialization in Data Science and analytics. His voracious reading habit has lead him through the pages of more than than 1,000 books.
About O'Brien's Pub on Wilshire:
The covered patio at Obrien's Pub has been a great place to host LA DevOps meetups for our post covid revival. The food and drink are great and the staff are very friendly. O'brien's is also the LA home of Manchester United Football Club Supporters.
You may want to bring a jacket for the cooler months.
Regarding parking, there are meters on Wilshire and the side streets that expire at 6.
Present at an Upcoming LA DevOps Meetup
If you would like to present at an upcoming LA DevOps meetup please send a message in meetup to the organizers with a proposed title and a sentence or two about the talk.
