Title: Cursor-Like Debugging for Production: Debug Systems the Way You Debug Code
Presented By: Vijay Karthik, Co-founder and CTO, Oodle.ai**

Description:

Debugging production systems today is still largely manual: engineers jump between dashboards, write ad-hoc queries, and mentally correlate metrics, logs, and traces under pressure. This workflow doesn’t reflect how engineers actually reason about problems—especially in Kubernetes environments that are dynamic, high-cardinality, and constantly changing.

This talk explores a Cursor-like approach to production debugging, where investigation is interactive, iterative, and driven by questions rather than predefined dashboards. Starting from an alert, we’ll look at how AI can help narrow the search space, surface relevant signals, and suggest meaningful next steps—while keeping engineers firmly in control of the investigation.

We’ll dive into the architectural and operational realities behind AI-native debugging at scale: environments ingesting 20TB+/day, handling 100M+ time series per hour, and spanning thousands of services and pods. The session will cover what works in practice, what breaks, and the trade-offs involved, with concrete examples and lessons learned from deploying this approach in large-scale Kubernetes environments at companies like Lookout, Zaggle, CureFit, and Fuel Labs.

About Vijay:

Vijay Karthik is the Co-founder and CTO of[ Oodle.ai](https://www.linkedin.com/company/oodle-ai/), an AI-observability startup that offers enterprise-grade observability at open source cost. He architected peta-byte scale file system built on top of object storage at Rubrik serving 5k+ enterprise customers.

About O'Brien's Pub on Wilshire:
The covered patio at Obrien's Pub has been a great place to host LA DevOps meetups for our post covid revival. The food and drink are great and the staff are very friendly. O'brien's is also the LA home of Manchester United Football Club Supporters.
You may want to bring a jacket for the cooler months.
Regarding parking, there are meters on Wilshire and the side streets that expire at 6.

Present at an Upcoming LA DevOps Meetup:
If you would like to present at an upcoming LA DevOps meetup please send a message in meetup to the organizers with a proposed title and a sentence or two about the talk.
