The OWASP Ranchi Chapter is back with our August in-person meetup at Sarla Birla University, Ranchi, and this one is built specifically for students who are curious about security but don't know where to begin.

No prior experience needed. If you can pen a laptop, you belong in the room.

What's on the agenda

Nobody grows up wanting to be a Security Analyst: Cybersecurity is not one job, it's twenty - SOC analyst, GRC, cloud security, pentesting, AppSec. What each role actually does day to day, what it pays in India, and which one fits how your brain works. Includes an honest look at how to break in from a non-CS background.
Deep into OSINT: How much can someone find out about a person or a company using nothing but public information? A hands-on look at open-source intelligence, the tooling behind it, and why it's the first step in almost every real attack.
Secure Coding Practices: The bugs that cause real breaches usually start as a few careless lines of code. Learn what insecure code looks like, and how to write software that doesn't hand attackers the keys.

Who should come
First and second-year students, anyone from a non-computer-science branch wondering if this field is open to them, and anyone who's watched security content online and wants to meet people doing it for real.
