Living Consciously: How to Introspect? - [Psychology Society]

Details

Living consciously means being fully aware and engaged in all aspects of life, seeking truth, and acting on it, thus leading to a more fulfilling and authentic existence. A fundamental way to achieve this is through introspection. In this event, we'll explore why we need to live consciously, various methods of introspection, and participate in workshops to apply our learnings.

The Six Pillars of Self Esteem Series Events:
"Who am I to know, judge, or decide?" Self-esteem is vital for our well-being. In a fast-paced world, it's easy to feel inadequate compared to others' glamour and overwhelmed by information overload. Self-esteem is essential for our mental health, self-efficacy, and self-respect.

In this series of events, there will be (1) a presentation, (2) Introspective Pairs Breakout Groups, and (3) Round Table Synthesis. This is to understand and integrate Nathaniel Branden's The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem:

  • Self-Acceptance: Embracing and advocating for oneself.
  • Living Consciously: Introspecting for higher awareness.
  • Self-Responsibility: Accountability for actions and pursuit of goals.
  • Self-Assertiveness: Expressing needs and values respectfully.
  • Living Purposefully: Setting and actively pursuing specific goals.
  • Personal Integrity: Consistency between actions and values.

PART I - Presentation:

  • Why Living Consciously Important
  • Living Consciously Continuum
  • How to introspect?

PART II - Introspective Pairs Breakout Groups:
In this part, we will engage in one-on-one breakout groups, which will be rotated periodically. I will provide guided probing sentences related to the topic to facilitate deep discussions.

PART III - Round Table Synthesis:
During this segment, we will share and discuss our internal and external observations, as well as strategies for integrating the discussed Pillar. This will allow us to learn from the insights of those with whom we did not have a direct conversation.

Agenda:
5:00 PM: Early Chat
5:15 PM: PART I: Presentation
6:00 PM: PART II: Introspective Pairs Breakout Groups:
7:45 PM: PART III: Round Table Synthesis
8:00 PM: Post-Meeting

Psychology Society:
A safe space where we engage in genuine, introspective conversations about nurturing mental health, with compassion and open minds.

Who Should Attend:
People who are interested in psychology, philosophy, introspection, meeting genuine strangers, and having fun! 🙂
