Writing for your Mental Health Series: Poetry 101
Details
For anyone who writes to make sense of things, even if you don’t consider yourself a “writer.” No prior experience needed, just bring yourself, and some ideas to pen in paper.
Curious about poetry, but not sure where to start?
This beginner-friendly session is an introduction to poetry as a way of noticing, expressing, and shaping experience through language. We’ll explore some of the basic building blocks of poetry, including line, stanza, rhythm, rhyme, and figures of speech. Not as rigid rules, but as tools that help language carry feeling, image, and meaning.
