Women Who Build: System Design Study Group Kickoff Session
Details
Join us for the first session of our system design study group!
This session is for women in tech who want to improve their system design skills in a collaborative, low-pressure environment.
Whether you’re preparing for interviews, growing into more senior technical thinking, or just want to better understand how systems are designed at scale, you’re welcome here.
In this first session, we’ll:
- introduce ourselves and what we want from the group
- talk about what makes a strong system design approach
- go over how future sessions will work
- do a beginner-friendly collaborative design exercise together
We’ll likely work through a prompt such as:
- Design TinyURL, or
- Design a basic notification system
No preparation required
You do not need to be experienced in system design to join.
Who should come
- women in tech
- aspiring backend / platform / systems engineers
- interview prep learners
- anyone curious about architecture and scalable systems
What to expect
This session will be thoughtful, interactive, and beginner-friendly.
The goal is not to have perfect answers, it’s to build confidence and improve through practice.
If you’ve been wanting a consistent technical study space with other women, this is a great place to start.
