Design a Link-in-Bio App 🔗
Details
Join us for the second meetup of our system design study group!
This week, we’ll be working through the design of a simple link-in-bio app, something similar to Linktree 🌲
Think: a user creates a profile page, adds a few links, and shares one public page with others.
It’s a simple idea, but it opens the door to a lot of useful system design questions, such as:
- what features should version 1 include?
- what information needs to be stored?
- what happens when someone visits a page or clicks a link?
- how might the system need to evolve as it grows?
This is a great session if you want to practice system design in a way that feels practical, collaborative, and beginner-friendly.
Who this is for
This session is intended for women in tech and women transitioning into tech who want a thoughtful, low-pressure place to practice system design.
What to expect
This is a collaborative study session, not a lecture.
We’ll think through the system together, ask questions freely, and focus on building clearer technical thinking over time.
Optional prep
If you’d like, take a quick look at Expedia's Linktree (or any similar link-in-bio page) before the session and notice things like:
- What feels simple or useful about it?
- What information is shown to the visitor?
- What actions can a user take?
- What seems easy to build, and what might be more complex behind the scenes?
No need to come with answers, just observations or questions.
