What we'll do

This time around we will explore one of the most exciting fields for Data Science and Machine Learning: Digital Health. To get a taste of some of the amazing projects being done in this industry we will experts with a diverse set of backgrounds showing us their work. Furthermore, as a Bonus, we will have a talk about the practical side of Ethics in Ai Development

Confirmed speakers:

->Vince Madai- “Ethics of A.I.: Practical Implications for Development"

Vince is an M.D./Ph.D. specialized on machine learning in healthcare and the scientific lead of the "Predictive Modelling in Medicine" group at Charité. He has a M.A. in medical ethics and will explore in his talk the practical implications of ethics on current and future A.I. development.

->Andrew Brereton - "Pareto-Optimal Embedded Modelling (POEM): A Machine Forgetting Method" -

Andrew is a PhD structural biologist with an emphasis in data science and visualization, machine learning, and software development. my. Now, he works for a Toronto start-up called Cyclica, where I do research in Chemoinformatics and develop tools for drug design.

->Michelle Livne- “Applied Machine Learning for Personalized Stroke Treatment"

In her Ph.D. at Charité Berlin, Michelle developed machine learning models to improve the treatment of stroke. She is currently heading the machine learning development at the "Predictive Modelling in Medicine" group at Charité.


General Info

This series will take place at the first Wednesday/Thursday of the month and entail a mix of networking and entertainment, with food/drinks and fellow minded friends as well hands-on, real-life examples of Data Science and Machine Learning in action. We will be bringing together top-class experts and speakers to approach the grand topic of AI from different perspectives and fields.
