Mindfulness is the caring, compassionate, non-judgmental awareness of our own experience- our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and what is going on around us. Mindfulness meditations are practices that help us to nurture the skill of mindfulness. This workshop teaches short mindfulness meditations that can be done at any time of the day. No experience or special clothing is necessary.
Dr. Siobhán Gibbons is a licensed psychologist in the state of New Jersey with an Ed. D. from Rutgers University, NJ. She is certified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction from the Center for Mindfulness in the University of Massachusetts Medical School and has been teaching mindfulness meditation workshops since 2008. She is a also a Certified Yoga Teacher and has completed the 40-hour Trauma Sensitive Yoga teacher training at Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center in Brookline, MA.
