☀️ Melanin Waves Collective: Salt River Splashdown Meetup 🌊

📍 Location: Lower Salt River – Meet at the Phon D Parking Lot
We’re kicking off our first ever Melanin Waves Splashdown with a float down the beautiful Lower Salt River! 🏞️✨
We’ll meet at 8:30 AM sharp at the Phon D parking lot. Most vehicles will stay parked at the bottom, and from there, we’ll carpool to Pebble Beach, our starting point for this relaxing, soul-recharging float.
We’ll enter the water at Pebble Beach and float our way downriver — soaking in sunshine, connection, and beautiful desert views. 🌅🎶
✨ What to Bring:
✅ Plenty of water
✅ Snacks (and maybe a treat to share!)
✅ Your kayak, paddleboard, or tube
✅ Life vest — safety first!
✅ Music (optional — bring the vibe!)
✅ Sunscreen, hat, and other river-day essentials
This first Splashdown is more than just a float, it’s a kickoff to something special. As the river season winds down, we plan to host one or two more floats before it gets too chilly. Then, once the heat returns next summer, we’ll launch monthly (and hopefully weekly!) Splashdown events for our growing community of Black and Brown water lovers.
So whether it’s your first float or your fiftieth, you belong here!!
