(street photography collective)

Our aim for this group is to develop and grow the street photography community here in Melbourne.

What is Street photography?

Street photography is a record of everyday life in a public area. It does not have a definite form but it can be a moment or an idea to prompt the viewer. It can be a real event or surreal interpretation. A great street photo conveys emotion and meaning.

Who is the photowalk for?

For people who are new to street photography and not sure where to start or just want to brush up your skills. Maybe you have been inspired by the works of Vivian Maier or Arthur Fellig. Sometimes it is less daunting when you are out doing photography with a friend.

On the day we will meet in fed square along the steps.

We will discuss different topics regarding street photography throughout the duration of the photowalk.

What to bring:

Comfortables Shoes and plenty of water.

We do Require all participants to bring a dslr or mirrorless camera with manual settings. This is for teaching best practices when out shooting as well as editing photos later.

Analogue film cameras are also welcome.

Bonus points if you bring a speedlight/flash

We hope to see you there!
