MelbDjango HackNight 0.1
Hosted by MelbDjango
Details
As discussed during our August meetup, we are going to be trying out hack nights on the 4th Thursday of the month. Our RSVP list for the hack nights will be much smaller than for the meetups, so please be sure to update your status if you are unable to make it to allow others to attend. The pattern and format for the regular meetups remains the same.
All are welcome, but we assume a basic level of Django understanding, which can be gained by working through the Django tutorials ( https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/intro/tutorial01) and the Getting Started With Django video series (http://gettingstartedwithdjango.com)
Here are two ideas we're kicking around are:
-
developing a BREACH proof of concept ( https://www.djangoproject.com/weblog/2013/aug/06/breach-and-django/)
-
working on Django tickets ( https://code.djangoproject.com/wiki/Reports) . This could entail working on bug fixes or documentation, depending on your interest
Feel free to choose one or work on your own thing! Or, if you have something you think might be more interesting feel free to suggest at the beginning of the night or email myself (colin@commoncode.com.au) or Curtis (curtis@commoncode.com.au)
NOTE: please bring your own laptop with a Python/Django development environment as we do not have any spares.
Beer, power, Internet and desk space will be provided.
