Keen to go camping but want to avoid the craziness of the long weekend? Join me to walk, camp and soak in the Hot Springs around the Mornington Peninsula. You are welcome to come for part or all of it!

Details:

Saturday hike: meet at 11am at Bushrangers Bay Parking Area for an 11-12.5km walk to Cape Shanck Lighthouse. This is a beautiful walk which starts inland and then follows the coastline. There isn't much shade along the way. Should take between 3 -4 hours. It's not very steep unless you go down to the beach after the lighthouse (optional). I recommend bringing a packed lunch, water, sunscreen, a hat and a raincoat (got to love Melbourne weather!)

Point Leo Estate: Some people may like to head here after the hike for a glass of vino or a wander around their outdoor sculpture park which features over 70 large scale works set amongst a stunning backdrop.

Saturday camping: The campsite is called the Point Leo Foreshore Reserve and backs onto the beach. We will arrive at the campsite somewhere between 3.30 and 5.30pm.

Booking camping: You will need to book your own campsite via this page:
https://pointleo.com/book-online/
Select Seasonal Campsites East. I have booked site 131. Sites cost $35 and accommodate up to six people and one car. Additional cars may be parked outside the camping areas.

Sunday: check out of campsite by 11.00am.

Sunday Peninsula Hot Springs 11.30am: Book via the link below and select Sunday 26 morning - Revitalise Bathhouse Bathing - 11.30am. Cost is $80 adult $65 concession/seniors. It books out fast, so be sure to book early if you are keen to attend. Bring bathers and a towel.

Camping notes: If you are new to camping in Melbourne, please be advised that it can be very cold at night and you will need to be suitably prepared! Along with a tent, please make sure you bring along a sleeping matt and a very warm sleeping bag/doona.
Water and BBQ/cooking facilities are provided (fridge, kettle, stove, BBQ) - however you will need to bring your own cooking equipment (and dinner and breakfast!) Unfortunately no fires are allowed.

Cost: $5. I will pm you my bank details. Payment will assist with the annual cost of running this group.
