The Cisco User Group was created in early 2016 by local enthusiastic IT professionals. Its purpose is to create a unique and friendly environment where IT professionals can meet up once a month and get to know each other, share knowledge, experiences, skills, learn about careers and much more in a completely relaxed and social environment along with plenty of drinks and great food!
The group is free and open to anyone who enjoys socialising and talking about any IT technology topic. We have two great presenters lined up for this meetup.

Based in Melbourne, Jay Rich began his career in IT as an engineer over 20 years ago with Telstra. Jay has since worked for global companies including IBM, Schneider Electric, Dimension Data, Acano and Polycom, to name a few. With a unique skillset blending sales strategy with technical knowledge, Jay provides a holistic understanding of technology and business needs.
During Jay’s career his strong passion for technology and business enablement has provided him with the ability to focus on helping organisations blend technology and business together, enabling innovation and successful business outcomes.
In the past few years Jay has adopted the role of Cisco IoT Evangelist, where he helps organisations drive innovation thought the use of Industrial Networking, collaboration technologies, workflow integrations and workplace transformation
- "Learning about Networks - Theory or Practice?" by Prakash Veeraraghavan
Prakash has over 25 years of academic and industry experience on coding, database and network communications. From 2007, he is the Cisco LMS for La Trobe Academy and is promoting Cisco Academy program La Trobe University Students. He is currently the Program Director for CS&IT courses. His research interest includes Securing Campus networks, Protocol vulnerability analysis, Cyber intelligence analysis and Malware dissection.
Meetups run on the first Tuesday of every month at 18:00 (6pm) sharp!
