An Introduction to therapeutic mediation

Details

Family law is a uniquely emotional area of law that deals with the most heartbreaking issues. The courts are really no place for this. This session of Cooperation not Conflict will demonstrate how therapeutic mediation can work through the emotions of dividing property. It will also demonstrate how mediation can work through the emotions of where children will live on a permanent basis and how children will maintain a signifcant and meaningful relationship with the parent they don't live with. Through the therapeutic mediation of the legal issues and emotional issues of separation and divorce couples will hopefully be able to take the conflict out of the breakdown of their reationship so that they are able to agree on property and where necessary parenting conset orders.

The session will not deal with individual circumstances and should not be considered to be legal advice. The session will give participants tools to be able to work through the division of the property gained during the relationship and if necessary how to create parenting arrangements that are in the best interests of the children of a relationship.
