Details of the event:
Join chef and proud Bundjalung woman Mindy Woods for an unforgettable culinary experience as she brings her signature native inspired cuisine from Karkalla on the Northern Rivers to Melbourne. Across four intimate dinners and one special long lunch, guests will enjoy a three-course menu that highlights native ingredients and traditional methods woven into a modern dining format. This collaboration celebrates culture, connection, and storytelling through food, set in the unique surrounds of Residence at The Potter.
In 2025 Mindy gained international recognition as the winner of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Champions of Change award. “Whether educating her social media followers about First Nations ingredients or proudly speaking on Bundjalung culture, Woods’ work all serves to revive and promote the Indigenous history that has been suppressed for generations,” reads her citation. “She hopes that by banging the drum for Bundjalung Country, she’ll elevate undervalued and underrepresented native foods across Australia, helping Aboriginal communities to benefit from a burgeoning native food industry.”
Mindy believes that food is at the heart of culture and that experiencing food is essential for understanding any culture. Food carries history, connection, and identity. Mindy's mission is to highlight and safeguard native Australian foods, emphasizing their profound relationship with Country, community, and culture.
