Looking to meet new people in Melbourne, practise a language, or simply enjoy a relaxed coffee and some friendly conversations? ☕🌏

Join Melbourne Global Circle for another afternoon of coffee, conversation, language exchange and making new friends from around the world.

This event is perfect if you’re new to Melbourne, an international student, on a working holiday or temporary visa, recently moved here, or simply looking to expand your social circle and meet people from different cultures.

You don’t need to be fluent in another language, and you definitely don’t need to come with a friend. Many people come to these events on their own.

The café is located in the fully covered Howey Place laneway, so we won’t have to worry too much about Melbourne’s unpredictable rain or wind. We can grab a takeaway coffee and enjoy our conversations in the sheltered laneway whatever the weather decides to do!

The café itself is quite small and may be busy, so we’ll mostly be standing, mingling and chatting in the lovely historic laneway outside the café.

☕ How the meetup works

To make conversations easier and give everyone an opportunity to speak and get to know each other, we’ll split into smaller groups of around 6–8 people.

You’re welcome to move between groups during the meetup so you can meet different people.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to:

Absolutely fine.

If you’re introverted, shy, new to Meetup, or attending your first social event, feel free to come and say hi to me (my name is Liem) when you arrive. I’ll be happy to introduce you to a few people and help you get into a conversation.
You definitely won’t be the only person coming alone.

There’s no formal networking and no pressure to be super outgoing or speak perfect English. Just come as you are, grab a coffee and join the conversation.

The goal is simple: have some good conversations, meet a few new people, and hopefully leave with some new friends in Melbourne. 🌏
