Mobilising knowledge for the next wave of sustainability

Topic: Mobilising knowledge for the next wave of sustainability – 2nd Session of Two
Bob Willard, the author of Resources for Sustainability Champions suggests that much of the current change in business around sustainability has been driven by compliance, PR crises or owners' personal passions. He describes a further wave of change associated with "sustainability".
Whilst this is being pushed along by compelling business cases, threatening market forces like climate change, and rising stakeholder demand, there is a deeper shift emerging. This next wave goes beyond compliance, establishing basic practices and making this efficient to radical re-workings of systemic/cross system linkages to sustain and regenerate. This then is not just a heavy space of obligation – it is also a space of opportunity, creativity and excitement.
July’s session explored what we already know about how to do “regenerative” business from technical and economic perspectives. This session explores developments in our understanding human behaviour and the adoption of innovations by communities from the perspectives of Ontological Coaching and Actor-Network Theory.
In this session, Leigh Baker as an Ontological Coach and Jenni Goricanec as "engineer/philosopher" will explore the “how of the how” of innovation – the adoption of new practices by human communities.
Participating in this event will enable you to:
Some understanding of the skills and embodied intelligences around innovation adoption in human communities.
A developing understanding of how Knowledge Management can enable these changes.
Agenda:
6:00-6:30 Networking with other thinking collaborators (over drinks and nibbles).
6:30-7:30 Presentation and group work.
7:30-8:00 Informal conversation amongst the group to explore the ideas and concepts.
