Japanese/Riichi Mahjong (リーチ麻雀) at Melta Mahjong

Join us for some games of (Japanese) Riichi Mahjong at Melta Mahjong parlour. We recommend you know the rules of Riichi including knowledge of yaku. We play Melta's house rules which are based on Tenhou/Mahjong Soul rules.

If you are a beginner or have never played Riichi before we recommend attending fortnightly meetups at Marche first. Please see the Melbourne Mahjong Meetup's event list for the next meetup at Marche.

When you arrive please let the staff know that you are from the meetup group and they will charge you the discounted fee. Then come say hi to the host and they will put you on a table.

Melta has a ranking system and registration is free at the front desk. To have your game recorded for ranking, make sure everyone on the table is registered. At the end of the game all scores on the table need to be written on the form that Melta provides, and then submitted to the front desk. The price per person is $3 per hour. Less than 30 minutes is $1.5. (for example if you're there from 6pm to 8:15pm you'll be charged $7.5).

You can bring your own food to eat at the venue.
