Japanese Mahjong (Riichi/リーチ麻雀) at Marché Board Game Cafe

Join us for an evening of Japanese Riichi Mahjong at Marché Boardgame Cafe! 😃

When you arrive, be sure to say hello to the host, and let them know your experience level. We have a dedicated table set aside for teaching the game, so don't worry; whether you've never played in-person, not sure of the yaku, or never played at all, everyone is welcome.

For the next few weeks, a new seating system will be trialed. Upon signup, please indicate which time slot you would like to register for:

• Group A, Early Birds: 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
• Group B, Night Owls: 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
• Group C, Marathon: 5:30 pm - 11:00 pm
• Group D, New Beginner Players: Simply write down what time you intend to arrive.

Tables will typically be shuffled at 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm, if you would like to be a part of that shuffle please aim to be at the venue before those times.

We will have a full round/hanchan timer of 75 minutes, allowing all groups to have a good amount of games played.

If you do not show up on time, your spot may be given to someone on the wait list.

If you do not choose a group, you will be defaulted as an all-night player, which might put you on the wait list!

As always, wait listed attendees are welcome to show up on the day and hope for an available spot!

This event has a small $5 fee, payable on the night. First-time players can attend for free!
